Paul Harris Career NFL Stats

Paul Christopher Harris played football at the University of Alabama and in the National Football League.  Paul was born on Dec. 19, 1954 in Mobile, Ala.  He played college football for Coach "Bear" Bryant at Alabama from 1974-76.  Playing defensive end, Paul helped the Tide go undefeated during the regular season in 1974, winning the SEC, but lost in the Orange Bowl to Notre Dame.

The next season Alabama lost the season opener to Missouri, but finished strong.  Winning out the rest of the season, Alabama clinched another SEC title and a Sugar Bowl victory over Penn State.

In 1977, Harris was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the team was unable to sign the defensive lineman.  Harris signed instead with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in only the second year of the team's existence.  Harris started the 1978 season with the Buccaneers, but was traded after five games to the Minnesota Vikings where he ended his playing career.
